Heathrow Terminal 4 — Temporary Holding Page

Interim Arrivals & Pick-Up Process During Redevelopment

What’s Changing

From 23 June 2026, the Terminal 4 multi-storey car park (for Terminal and Meet & Greet Parking) has closed as part of a major redevelopment programme to modernise the terminal’s forecourts and car park, improving passenger experience.

These works include:

  • A new car park — replacing the ageing structure, improving long-term safety, resilience and operational performance
  • Improved drop-off area — smoother traffic flow, clearer wayfinding, easier passenger access
  • Modernised facilities — upgraded accessibility, new waiting areas, enhanced signage, better integration with public transport

Terminal 4 itself remains fully open throughout the works — only the parking and pick-up arrangements have changed.

Where Chauffeurs Should Park

All passenger parking for Terminal 4 has moved to Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride car park. Use Zone A if you need to accompany a departing passenger into the terminal, or to meet an arriving passenger inside the terminal.

Free parking

Up to two hours of free parking is available in Zone A. After two hours, standard Park & Ride drive-up prices apply (£9.40 for 2–4 hours, £46.80 for the first 24 hours).

Shuttle buses

  • Free shuttle buses run every 5 minutes between Park & Ride Zone A and Terminal 4
  • Transfers take as little as 6–10 minutes
  • All buses are fully accessible with plenty of luggage space

Buses run 04:00–23:30 daily; pick up from bus stops 5, 6 & 7 outside Arrivals

Priority Pick-Up (Recommended for Chauffeurs)

For a quick kerb-side collection, use the Priority Pick-Up area on the Arrivals level (Level 1) of the multi-storey car park — this area is not affected by the redevelopment works. It operates on a simple drive-in, collect, and depart basis. Vehicles must not be left unattended, and payment is online only.

Length of StayCharge
Up to 10 minutes£7.00
11 – 29 minutes£14.00
30 – 60 minutes£25.00
Over 60 minutes£25.00 per additional 60 mins (or part)

Drop-Offs

Terminal 4 drop-offs continue as normal at the Departures Level (Level 4) forecourt. The existing Terminal Drop-Off Charge of £7 applies per visit. Vehicles should not be left unattended.

Taxis, Uber & Private Hire

No change — black cabs, private hire vehicles and ride-hail services continue to operate at Terminal 4 as normal for both pick-ups and drop-offs.

Public Transport

Unaffected — London Underground, rail (Elizabeth Line/Crossrail), bus and coach services to Terminal 4 continue to operate as normal.

Passengers Requiring Assistance

  • A dedicated Assisted Services Hub is located within Zone A
  • Specialist assistance staff help passengers from the car park to the shuttle buses and into the terminal
  • Accessible shuttle buses run at high frequency with extra luggage space
  • Clearly marked areas for wheelchairs and mobility equipment
  • Dedicated Blue Badge parking is available in Zone A
Quick Reference
  • Quick collection, no terminal entry needed → Priority Pick-Up, Arrivals Level 1 (charges apply, see table above)
  • Meeting passenger inside terminal / name board → Park & Ride Zone A (first 2 hrs free) + shuttle bus
  • Dropping off a departing passenger → Departures Level 4 (£7 charge)
  • Do not leave vehicles unattended in either pick-up or drop-off zones
